Groundbreaking for New Gasification based plant

The groundbreaking ceremony for Greta Energy Limited’s coal gasification-based Integrated Green Steel Plant was held at Bhadravati, Chandrapur. 

The project marks an important step towards more sustainable steel production in India. Greta Energy has selected thyssenkrupp Uhde’s PRENFLO Gasification technology and awarded the L+BEP scope, highlighting strong trust in the technology and its role in cleaner industrial processes.

Representing thyssenkrupp Uhde India, Parag Chepe, Anand Naryananswami and Ajit Kulkarni attended the event and met key leaders from Greta Energy. The event marked the beginning of an important project and showcased strong collaboration across teams and partners. These developments reflect growing interest in gasification technologies to support the country’s evolving energy and industrial needs.
