Rajesh Kamath, CEO & MD of thyssenkrupp Uhde India, recently spoke at the 12th Professional Development Conference (PDC) organized by the American Society for Safety Professionals India Chapter in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras and ICOH Scientific Committees.
During his address, he shared insights on the evolution of safety culture in the industry. Drawing references from the shift in the safety culture shifts throughout his professional journey, he noted that the industry has now progressed from reactive to proactive safety measures. He highlighted the unique challenges faced by the current safety culture in India, including regulatory compliance and workforce training. He discussed the promising future shaped by digitalization, which presents both opportunities for innovative safety management and challenges such as data security and technology integration. Emphasizing the importance of industry collaboration, he urged stakeholders to unite, share best practices, and leverage technology to enhance safety standards across the board.
